Zither App Terms and Privacy Policy

Terms of Use

By using Zither, you agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not interfere with the app, its services, or other users.

Zither helps you organize product information such as manuals, receipts, serial numbers, warranty details, product photos, notes, and support links. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you add to your account.

Zither may include links to manufacturer websites, manuals, support pages, or product lookup results. These third-party resources are provided for convenience and may change or become unavailable.

Zither and its related names, designs, software, and content are owned by Silber Studios, Inc. You may not copy, reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the app or its content except as permitted by law.

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Zither collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information You Provide

When you use Zither, you may provide:

Account information, such as your email address and username.
Product records, such as product names, purchase dates, warranty details, notes, barcodes, manuals, support links, and product details.
Images or files you choose to add, such as product photos, receipt photos, serial-number photos, and saved manuals.
Support messages you send to us by email.

Information Collected Automatically

Zither may collect basic technical information needed to operate the app, such as app version, device information, login/session information, push notification token if you choose to allow notifications, and basic diagnostic or crash information if crash reporting is enabled.

How Zither Uses Information

Zither uses your information to:

Create and manage your account.
Save and display your product records.
Store photos, receipts, serial-number images, notes, manuals, and warranty details.
Help look up product information from a barcode.
Provide warranty reminders if notifications are enabled.
Respond to support requests.
Maintain, secure, and improve the app.

Barcode Lookup

When you scan or enter a barcode, Zither may send that barcode to a product lookup service to find matching product information such as product name, brand, description, category, and image.

Current product lookup services may include UPCitemdb and Go-UPC. These services receive the barcode needed to perform the lookup. They do not need your Zither password.

Photos, Receipts, Serial Numbers, And Manuals

Zither stores the product photos, receipt images, serial-number images, manuals, and related files that you choose to add to your account. These files are used so you can access them later inside the app.

Do not upload sensitive personal documents that are not related to the product records you want to manage.

Notifications

Push notifications are optional. If you allow notifications, Zither may use them to remind you about warranty-related information. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Zither should continue to function if you decline notifications.

Location

Zither does not currently use your location.

The app may include location purpose strings because third-party SDK references can require Apple privacy disclosures, but Zither does not currently request or use location to provide app features.

Camera And Photo Library

Zither may ask for camera access so you can scan barcodes and add photos of products, receipts, or serial numbers.

Zither may ask for photo library access so you can choose existing images to attach to product records.

How Information Is Stored

Zither stores account and product data using hosted backend services. Product files you upload may be stored on the app’s server infrastructure so they can be associated with your account and product records.

Sharing

Zither does not sell your personal information.

Zither may share information only as needed to operate the app and backend services, perform product barcode lookup, provide support or troubleshoot issues, or comply with law, legal process, safety, or security requirements.

Data Retention

Zither keeps your account and product records while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You may contact us to request help with account or data deletion.

Children

Zither is not intended for children under 13.

Your Choices

You can choose what product information and files you add, decline or disable push notifications, decline camera or photo library access, and contact us for help with account access or data deletion.
